Maybe some code just needs to be updated, because this site has always had a favicon as long as I have been around:

Yep, I get the same favicon as Blair.

Shows up fine for me on both Firefox 14.0.1 and IE 9.

Nope, not an old cache, you just assumed the wrong name.  It isn't called 'favicon.ico', it is called 'SiteIcon.ico'.  The code used, <link rel="SHORTCUT ICON" href="http://www.invelos.com/SiteIcon.ico" /> is, according to Wikipedia, compatible with Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera and Safari.

Favicon shows up on tab and in front of location:

But this is not default-behaviour of Firefox - as it's not default to have location-bar on top of tabs.

huh? Location bar has always been default on all the firefox versions I have had. And the favicon has been defaulted as on (automatic) as well. The only time I see tabs is when I have more then one tab open. The favicon shows on tabs but not on the location bar for me.

I guess it was version 7 or 8 when Firefox changed the position of the tabs on top of the location-bar.
And it was about version 10 or 11 when the favicon went away.

But I guess this only happened when doing a fresh Firefox-install and not when updating.

Hmm maybe they would be better off using the more common link rel="icon" then as it's obviously not working everywhere, or both if they want to worry about the 15% of IE users.

Firefox 14.0.1 here btw
