I've been anxiously awaiting this release. Although I'm fairly certain I've donated in the past, I have no problem sending $13.25 to compensate you for all your work, and just did.

Just one thing, after I installed the plugin I couldn't start Profiler. It showed the splash screen and after maybe 1/4 of the load time it just quit. After re-installing Profiler it worked ok. Not a big thing, but it may put some people off. I'm using Vista Home Premium.

Do you have any addtional info on this? Maybe from the event log? I have tested the Plugin on Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista (Ultimate) without any problems.

Nothing in the event logs as far as I can see. Sorry...

Yeah, I have to join the choir here... I actually had planned on donating 20 USD (~15€) when I saw the "3.5.0-compatible" version, but now I actually feel that paying would be giving in to black-mail...

Blackmail? Come on...?

I did consider the fact that the price for the plugin is almost half the price of Profiler, but then I realized that plugins have a much smaller audience. You have to weigh the price against how useful this particular plugin is to yourself. You shouldn't dismiss it on the grounds that Profiler in itself is dirt cheap.

Being a programmer myself, I appreciate how much work Matthias must have put in by now, and I don't in any way begrudge him this small payback.

I agree. And I am also grateful for the support that I have gotten from Rander and others. It includes the advice and tremendous expertise of Goodguy, who is a constant source of technical depth in the Plugin Developer's Forum.
Thanks for your support.

I appreciate the work all the Plugin Developers do to make the best DVD cataloging program on the market even better. I made a donation to Matthias almost a year and a half ago for goodguy's Profile Comparison Plus and have used it religiously ever since. Although Matthias has graciously offered previous donators for Profile Comparison Plus a free registration key, in appreciation for his hard work, I have purchased a key instead. Thank you Matthias, I've been anxiously awaiting a 3.5.0 compatible version .

I'm really puzzled...

On the one side I can understand that Matthias wants to earn some money for his great and much appreciated work for the community. It is a valid request as he invests alot of precious time on his plug-ins.

On the other side I see other very dedicated programmers, layouters, translaters, headshot collectors and contributors around here (TomGaines, mediadogg, Addicted2DVD, Michael_ZZ, Unicus69, Dr. Killpatient, RossRoy, cvermeylen... to name only a few, I know there are 100s more!).
They spend a great deal of time to support DVDProfiler and serve the needs of many users.
What, when everybody starts to ask for money?
"Headshot Master Database 4" --> 10$
"Monthly update" --> 0,50$
"German Translation" --> 5€

Do you see which road it could take as ? No question, most of this work would be worth some money, but in the end it will bring down the popularity of DVDProfiler and nobody wants to do something for free for the community.

I wish there could be another way to support all dedicated workers for the community

Fixed, thanks.
BTW, it also worked in Opera, but IE sometimes requires a little extra tweaking.

2. I think it might look cleaner if the HTML tags in the overview were displayed as italics and bold rather than as HTML tags.  Hard to say without seeing it, but I think I'd prefer to see the end results over the code.

I pondered that, but decided to go with the exact display. Might be worth making an option in a future version.

To follow up on this: GSyren just was able to discover a bug in DVD Profiler that way. When the entire overview is formatted bold or italic, DVDProfiler does not save the closing tag.

I'd still like to see it with bold/italics.  An option would be good.  A button to toggle it would be better.
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!

I haven't had time to download the new version yet, but I've been making do with the old one, and the display of HTML codes has allowed me to fix several "annoyances" - as noted closing tags in an overview appear to be lost, and tags that start a line which is preceded by a blank line always have the tag before the blank line. I also like to correct those cases where tags extend to include spaces after a word, because I'm just that anal

I really like seeing the tags myself -- I also find that attempting to select italicized text is, umm, error-prone ... a toggle like the show all/show only differences radio button would be great ...

Well, apparently we code for different reasons...

Before Windows 95 "took over the world," i did a lot of coding in Turbo Pascal. Today, I primarily do php and - when I can't get away with doing stuff in php - perl, and the only reason I do it is because I like doing it! Mostly I do whatever I myself need, and if someone else can use my code for anything, then by all means, you can have it! Okay, if somebody asks me "can you do this" I generally give it a shot when I have the time, but still I don't do it for money. If people want to donate, then fine, but I don't expect them to pay anything...
The future is here. It's just not widely distributed yet. (William Gibson)

Ah, I found this as well. A "Buggeration Too Far" as far as I'm concerned........and I actually had the Paypal window open at the time to give Matt some well-deserved Beer Tokens! I have no problem with the 30 days' trial and the eight quid or so (please, no jokes about falling Sterling exchange rates .....and somewhere under the mountain of paper in my study is 20 euros from my last trip to Toulouse ), but this last bit has left a bad taste.......

Sorry

This is a great plugin and well worth the 10 euros I donated last year.

One small thing that bothers me though is that the plugin is using the word "Custom" (for Roles) in the crew section instead of "Other", as "Custom" is also used for case types and has a different translation than "Other" which is used in the role assign window of DVD Profiler. A custom case is a special build for a certain release, while a custom role is a role I entered myself.

Also the translations of the Production CoO and the SRP Currency Type aren't used by the comparison skin.
