I have the option set to split "J.K." into first and middle name. When I decide to unset this option, I will have a lot 'wrong' parsed names in my db.

Is there an easy way to find those names, so I can correct them?

What do you mean by "wrong"?

Well, now I have J.R.R. Tolkien parsed as J./R. R./Tolkien in my db which is right with the actual setting. But when I unset the option to split "J.K." into first and middle name this would be wrong, the right data would be J.R.R.//Tolkien.

So, I'm looking for an easy way to find those cases. - Don't get me wrong, I'm not asking for a new program-feature.

I can search for ".</firstname>" in cast.xml/crew.xml to find persons having an initial as firstname, but that would catch a lot of correct names.

I would use DVDP itself.

Simply Search for "A." and "B." in the cast filter.

IMDb changed the search by title page.

Which means if you search for something and then click on the title, it will open the URL

http://akas.imdb.com/title/tt0804503/?ref_=fn_tt_tt_1

instead of

http://akas.imdb.com/title/tt0804503/

If you try to scan this page, CCE2 will throw an error that the syntax of the URL is incorrect.

I will publich a fix but I'm not at home today.

In the meantime, simply switch to the Movie or TV Show tab and manually remove everything from the ? forward. Then press Scan Page again.

I've noticed that, thanks in advance for the fix. Very annoying 'behavior' of the imdb lately. The DVDP imdb button became almost useles, too. Adds ;tt=on directly to the title messing up most search results completly in case there is no direct link stored locally or at Invelos.

Thanks again for the lastest update. Makes it a lot more comfortable again.

An advice / question for all with many profiles with imdb data / fake BY.

Is there a limit to the amount of data we can upload to Invelos? My cast & crew caches together are over 40MB big and I guess thats at least the amount I have to upload. That also takes forever.

So I've copied the entire collection, pasted an empty cast & crew into all profiles and uploaded that collection instead of my real one. The upload itself is quick but the whole process of copy (entire collection) and paste (empty cast & crew) and then scanning for changed profiles took forever.

That was the best way I could think about. Are there better solutions or isn't there even a problem at all with the amount of data that's uploaded. Also I'm a bit concerned about 'publishing' a direct copy of IMDB owned data.

Uploading to Invelos is always a delta-load, i.e. only changes are uploaded.

That means you have to endure the upload progress once but after that it's only the changes that you need to upload.

Yes, but it's quite a lot that has to be stored by Invelos. No matter if I upload it once or everytime.

Something different - my log is empty and no new warnings are added anymore. Haven't looked at it for a while so I'm not entirely sure if that happened with the lastest version or maybe the version before that one.

Edit: BTW - very useful new feature with the movie title shown in the warning popup. Aready became aware of crap like this four times this night:

Love and Other Drugs: www.imdb.com/title/tt0758752/
Kendra Dennard, role dancer (2x, once male, once female), pages empty except this movies entry
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm4542378/
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm4614741/

The old log.txt is abandoned, it's now log.html.

This way I can link the actors in the log window.

I guess I didn't explain very well again.

I didn't try to open any file. The Log tab stays empty or is emptied as soon as the ok button is pressed on the warning popup.

But I also don't have a log.txt or log.html file anywhere in the CCE2 (sub)folders anymore in case there ever was. Always accessed the log directly from CCE2 and the whole current session was visible without the save option checked.

Really strange. Checking the save option created now a log.html file but the tab in CCE2 is still empty.

Ah ok, now I see.

Odd. In my first tests it worked just fine. Now I don't see anything either.

New version is on the way.

Excellent! I'm making massive use of the log now but it opens the IE, not my default browser. Is there anthing I can do about that?

Edit: another tiny problem, well not really a problem but something to be aware of - or maybe everybody but me is already aware of it :

Just got the warning for the name change of an actor. He is also part of the crew in a movie I've done a long time ago.

Crosslink aren't in danger but there is a possibility of having the same person under different names in the cast & crew sides of the collection. So better always check both 'sides' in case you want your collection as 'perfect' as possible

I guess there might a problem with headshots in the DVDP CreditPhotos folder, too if the same headshot is shared for cast & crew?!

Unfortunately no. The control I'm using uses the IE internally. So when it opens a link in a new window it will naturally open another IE window.

I deliberately seperated cast and crew a few versions ago to avoid unneccesary collsion allerts (cast and crew member with same name but different people) since DVDP is keeping these two data pools also seperate.

The problem is that DVDP has seperate pools for cast and crew in the database but doesn't make the same distinction in the Headshots folder.
