Seems there's some sort of underlying issue with the SQLite database that I've not accounted for. it's slow .. I mean SERIOUSLY slow. and it keeps force closing on me.. I think I'm running out of memory or something. ... Have you considered not using a backend database? It certainly do give some advantages (linking across actors for example) but it comes at a pretty steep price with regards to complexity for the device to handle. For my WP7 app I simply maintain an in memory view of the few properties I need in order to sort the collection correctly depending on the chosen sortorder. If you want to sort by everyting on the planet it's probably not a viable solution, but if you just want the simple obvious things working fast it works quite well. | | | Regards Lars |

Invelos has not declined development for Android. Cool! So, if I maybe did not quite understand why there is this thread, two years old, and still no android version available: Could you tell me when you plan to release the DVD-Profiler mobile app for Android? Or, if already done, were can I download it? Best regards Ralf |

Because he was working on an iPhone version and some improvement to the desktop version. If a developer tries to do everything that would be a good idea to do, he will end up working on everything and finishing nothing. Quote: ... Nothing has been announced and unfortunately experience shows that it takes a long time from that announcement until release. He might surprise us, but - well - take that as a surprise, don't wait for it. Your best shot for now is probably a third party reader that will work until Ken releases an app. Unfortunately it seems to take a long time for the Android (I know the development environment is quite bad compared to waht I have for WP7, but I would have thought the userbase should be so much bigger that someone would have released something by now anyway). | | | Regards Lars |

Sorry. I did not know that you are a one man show, developing DVD-Profiler. Thought this was a company with some more developers. So, under this aspect this status quo is understandable. Nevertheless it's still too bad that only workarounds are available. Looking forward to an announcement in future (hopefully not too far in future ;-)) Best regards Ralf | | | Last edited: by derrapf |

Tom After the terror of some users about the iOS-version before it was released, I wouldn't expect an official anouncement before it is 99,9% finished... But the fact that an android-version has not officially denied should offer hope. |

| Posted: | | | | Hello and regards to all
I Too like you am a great fan user of dvd profiler
I am also in the Telecom Industy beeing a Telecom Director and had no choice but to evolve and started using android type phones. Great tools and so user friendly.
To sustain in the actual market companies have no choice but to evolve and develop for other platforms.
Firm like MyMovies have well understood that and have not only developped for the Iphone market, the Ipad and now Android.
I hope you will make a poll on this Forum so as to get you to open your mind so as to develop for new platform like Android.
Wish you all a happy 2011 and may the Great Architect of the Universe of DVDPM open his eyes to his future. |

| Posted: | | | | Like some others have mentioned, as a temporary solution I have simply bookmarked my collection's page on my Droid, actually an HTC Incredible. Just yesterday, I went to Best Buy to pick up season 4 of Heroes on DVD (on sale for $19.99) to complete that series. While there, I was looking at the BB exclusive Resident Evil blu-ray set, in the custom packaging. It looks very nice, and at $70, is a $10 savings over buying them individually...then I pulled out my Incredible and, using the free ShopSavvy app, scanned the barcode, compared prices and found I can pick up the individual films on blu-ray for much cheaper on Amazon, among other places. I brought up my collection page to see what else was higher up on my wishlist, and I saw BB had the 2 National Treasure films on blu-ray on sale at $11 off. A quick scan with that app, and see I can again save money thru Amazon...about another $6 combined off BB's sale prices. Man I love this phone! | | | My phpDVDprofiler collection |

| Posted: | | | | Yep, I get a lot of looks when I am scanning stuff.
Lots of other customers ask me questions.
I do like that BB has the QR codes on big items so you can see a better spec sheet and read reviews.
Funny, I just picked up the RE 3 Pack ( standard Dvd) for $13 at wally world.
Still resisting Blue rays at this point.
