bad dubbing next: depending on the way it's done, why it was done, and whether the voices sound as if they belong to the faces on the screen.

bad remakes next. some remakes, not so bad, i.e., Cronenberg's The Fly

of course, there's tons of other bad film types (such as films built around cartoonish special effects...go'head, guess...), but my fingers get tired easily...

oh yeah, and adding to/altering not so old films with modern special effects and/or altering scenes for current political correctness (go'head, guess some more...)

Trendy remakes.

Remakes have obviously been around for many decades, and some (even recent) are good...but there has been a plethora of true stinkers (and plenty of 'em) from Hollywood in the last several years.

Surely the same argument used to justify dubbing can be/is applied to colorizing.

I voted for dubbed - we had a lot of those here in SA a few years ago and it generally IMHO ruined what could have been good movies/TV. I prefer to have the original language with subtitles as that way you at least get all the correct inflections for attitude etc.

Remakes have been in some cases absolutely awful but there have been quite a few really good ones. Hollywood seems to be in remake mode at present, so there is a plethora of them. Why can Hollywood not come up with goo ideas? A few years ago we had a plethora of body switching movies - all made around the same time, basically a variation on a theme. Then there was the Baby boom type movie, then the Meteor coming to earth and the pending disaster revolving around that. Now it is remakes and sequels. Enough already!!! It is time to come up with something new!

Cuts to appease a certain rating

There is only one good thing of 'colorized' movies. They usually have to find the best print and really clean it up. So if I find one I watch it by turning down the color on my TV so low it shows up as B&W, and I can enjoy the clean print. Though thank G-d that the colorized trend seems to have died.
