| Posted: | | | | The post by Phileeny definitely reads as if he was suggesting that Ken let an external source develop the app and that Ken would then give a percentage to said developer. At least it does in English English. |

| Posted: | | | | Trying to read these posts can drive a person insane. I realize that for every person for a certain operating system there is at least one against. Having said that, I have used android. I have used windows mobile. I am also using apple.
I think everyone is scrambling for quantity rather than quality. Android, like WM is someone's idea of an alternative to Blackberry's operating system. Let's be honest, that is where this all started. The only one that seems to be standing alone is apple. Why - because it seems they are going for quality rather than quantity...even though it seems like they are trying to do both.
Technology is moving so flipping fast, good operating systems and hardware seems to fall by the way side in expectation of the next best thing. Android isn't all that. It still has way too many bugs in it for my taste. I mean windows mobile doesn't crash as much as android fails to deliver what everyone says it is supposed to deliver.
I think windows is being left by the wayside because everyone is jumping on this android bandwagon. If you're gonna choose an operating system I would think going a route that is tried and tested would make sense. Windows Mobile was tried and tested because it is just a smaller version of its PC version. Apple's operating system is tried as far as it has been used on ipods (I believe it is the same operating system as their computers). Android doesn't have any of this to back it up. |

Oh, that's right, I forgot, anybody that doesn't agree with your point of view is picking a fight with you. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand. The Centauri learned this lesson once. We will teach it to them again. Though it take a thousand years, we will be free. - Citizen G'Kar |

And of course it's only supported by an unknown little upstart company called Google. I'd like an Android App although I'm not sure what I'd use it for. It's probably better suited for a tablet than a phone though. Maybe you could control your whole home cinema from a touch tablet, that would be nice. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

Had you read page 1, you would have noticed this thread never belonged here in the first place. Thus it really shouldn't have been bumped to get more attention. We have better forums here for these discussions. Also, it's pointless to get more votes. It's a very well established fact (in the mobile forums) that people want an Android app. More votes will not change a thing. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. | Posted: | | | | Quoting Oct: Quote: Hi All i'd like to see a dvdprofiler android app! anyone else? I gave up waiting a long time ago. Instead I have: 1) Created an export file using the Export File Database plugin. 2) Import the data file 'Collectorz Movie Collector' which I use in conjunction with Windows Media Center in my HTPC. 3) Sync the data in 'Collectorz Movie Collector' programme with the Collectorz 'CLZ Movies' App for Android via an online clone of my Collectorz movie database collection. 4) I use my DVDProfiler as my master database. For any changed profile I export only that profile and import it into 'Collectorz Movie Collector' which is synced with the app via the online collection. Until recently you couldn't amend any profiles in the 'CLZ Movies' app. They could onlly be updated by synching via the online database. I recently received an email about a new verssion of the app which I believe allows editing of profiles in the app, however I haven't got around to updating that yet, and in anycase, I only want one database as a master for any edit changes. At present I am using an Opticon OPN-2001 barcode reader to scan a DVD case in my DVDProfiler, and create new profiles etc, and that does it pretty quickly and efficiently. I prefer my DVD Profiler database to the Collectorz database as the profiles they have in their database are not peer reviewed as they are here (not that 80% + profiles are accurate in here either). Cumbersome yes, but it works for me. | | | Veni, Vidi, Visa, Vista, Voodoo, Vino I came, I saw, I bought, I installed Vista, I'm now haunted, I need wine
