I used the application quite a bit earlier today. No issues earlier. Something going on with IMDB.com perhaps? Thanks in advance. Figured it out. Been a long day I guess. When performing a search and selecting a given title the URL that populates to be scanned is for whatever reason using "https" rather than "http". Using "http" instead the given scan is successful. | | | My DVD/Blu-ray Collection | | | Last edited: by Lowpro |

Yes, it appears that IMDB is adding the secure site thing to the http. Remove the 's' right after that in the Cast/Crew Edit 2 and it works. Edit: Sorry didn't see your second post. But at least it confirms that it's not just you. | | | Last edited: by CubbyUps |

http://doena-soft.de/dvdprofiler/3.5.1/CrewEdit2.zip
It helps you to rip IMDb crew data and insert it into DVD Profiler.
What needs to be done now is to transform/map IMDb crew roles into the ones from DVD Profiler
For example: Fanboys.
The credit there is "Writing credits" -> "screenplay" which has to be mapped to "Writing" -> "Screenwriter"
For this you use the "IMDbToDVDProfilerCrewRoleTransformation.xml" and the above example would look like this:
Quote: <CreditType> <IMDbCreditType>Writing credits</IMDbCreditType> <DVDProfilerCreditType>Writing</DVDProfilerCreditType> <CreditSubtypeList> <CreditSubtype> <IMDbCreditSubtype>screenplay</IMDbCreditSubtype> <DVDProfilerCreditSubtype>Screenwriter</DVDProfilerCreditSubtype> </CreditSubtype> </CreditSubtypeList> </CreditType>
All valid DVD Profiler CreditType/CreditSubtypes are shown in the file "AllDVDProfilerCrewRoles.xml"
It would be great, if you could send me your enhanced "IMDbToDVDProfilerCrewRoleTransformation.xml" files.
PS: And remember: IMDb data must not (!) be contributed to the Online Database.

Unfortunately I cannot edit Invelos' posts that old. The current link for the software is: http://doena-journal.net/en/dvd-profiler-tools#CastCrewEdit2PS for newcomers: This program is a "copy deployment" which means that you just take the zip file and unzip it and run the exe within. There is no setup. You also should not unzip it into the "Program Files" folder because the software tries to write the data into on of its sub-folders which is not allowed by Microsoft anymore when the software lies within "Program Files". Just put it into your "My Documents" folder or the like. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | DJ, the folks at IMDb seem to have changed something, as CCE2 doesn't display anything after you click on an entry. Edit: Scanning works though. | | | Last edited: by TraunStaa |

| Posted: | | | | Same indications as TraunStaa. However, after clicking Scan page the Cast and Crew data is displayed and can be copied. |

| Posted: | | | | Works fine now. Previously, after Searching and clicking on the appropriate title a blank area would be displayed where normally you would see the IMDB webpage for that title. But after clicking the "Movie" tab and "Scan Page" the data would be displayed. |

| Posted: | | | | Maybe it's a temporary problem and goes away but this morning CCE2 isn't working anymore for the cast. I've tried a couple of movies and the cast is always empty. Crew does still work. |

I'm sure Karsten will outwit them again. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

| Posted: | | | | I've had it a week ago with season 2 of iZombie I think. For some episodes the Cast was empty, for some others the crew but it worked again after a few minutes. This is going on for at least 13 hours and with everything I've tried. So I was starting to get worried they really changed something now.
Also DVDP itself doesn't recognize imdb links anymore like it used to in the past (my links, edit -> imdb.com search). The search result has to be set manually to be used by the DVDP imdb button now. |
