brining this up because i need a consensuses about what to do, Vinegar Syndrome as a company reeks havoc with some of their releases and the way the rules are set up on this site and for contributions.

Case in point, they have Vinegar Syndrome Exclusive items, these are sometimes a repackaging of single releases with a custom box ( i.e. Box Set) but the box set does not have a UPC.

Here is where the issue comes into play, these items can be ordered, as a box set from there site, but then cant be entered, because the box it's self doesn't have a UPC.

examples:

I have already done front and back cover scans and done documentation following box set rules, and included the single releases with all perinate information as child profiles,  but for anyone purchasing this as a box set new they will not be able to find it in the database.

awaiting some other input, from others that understand the difficulties associated with some of the VS titles.

should I submit this and the other (NEW) box Taboo Collection 1-4, so that individuals purchasing that way can find the box that they purchased?

I think this is an interesting situation, usually when VS first releases a box set all contents (cases) have the same UPC number which is inferred to be the same UPC for the box set.  Then when they eventually release each title separately, they assign (new) individual UPCs for each release.

Did you purchase the box separately or as a set?  If the latter, I'm curious if the UPCs for each of the individual titles are the same as the previous releases or if all titles have a new UPC?

EDIT:  Either way, I do believe it's helpful to have the parent boxset available to all in the database, but not sure how it would be listed in this case.

Not unless there is a UPC on the box.  It would be nice if Invelos had a site feature where users could share manual profiles with one another the way we share layouts and reports.

I too wish we could contribute manual profiles. I have 337 of them because of the ones I bought from Vudu and created my own media types and Logos for them along with cover images.

I have the very same issue. I'm almost tempted to use the lowest UPC from movies which are supposed to go in the box.

Just contribute the child profiles which make up your boxsets using the UPC's if present or Disc ID's if needed.  Users that download those profiles can create their own boxsets if they want.  It's not exactly rocket science.  If it's that important to you that people have access to your parent profiles then backup the profiles and make them available for download.

Or create a Profile File. Then anybody who gets it need only click on it, and it will load automatically into Profiler.

Suggestion: use custom profiles. They can be your choice starting with "_", such as "_VUDU.....".

See here.

I use the closest one I can find in "Add DVD to Collection" then make it manual and edit the covers to remove anything that is not shown on VUDU or get posters, online, that closely match what VUDU shows and apply my Custom Media Types, Features and Audio, etc. But, of course I just can't contribute them for others to use.

I don't know where I got the number 337, but I actually only have 191 Manual Profiles.

Understood. I was just suggesting a way to organize the profile IDs to avoid conflicts when sharing. All manual IDs start with "M"  followed by a number.
