Last nights CBS TV special of the AFI top 100 of the past 100 years - 10th anniversary was a no brainer but interesting to see that again Citizen Kane again came in number one.  The dvd of that title also has Roger Ebert and Peter Bogdanovich seperately on commentary., Recommended but voted number one twice in ten years??

Doesn't surprise me that Citizen Kane is still number 1 at all. It remains the single best film ever created. I might quibble over the placement of some of the titles in the list but in general, itlooks right to me.

I can think of no other film that I can watch as repeatedly as I can Citizen Kane. I find the film entertaining, beautiful, and deep with meaning. The history of Welles future as a director and actor was set during this, his first film.

Definitely my favorite film of all time.

Of the Top 100, I own 50 of them.  Guess I'd better get on the ball and get the rest .

Yup it is the 1997 Titanic, ..,,, I was super surprised that 59's Ben Hur came in so high,, Maybe we are all getting tired of Chuck and his National Rifle stance....

I watched the show last night, it was interesting to hear actor's commentary on which movies were inspirational or why they loved them. I wonder how the list was formulated - does anyone know who is involved in the voting process? I'm also curious to what the original list of top 100 movies were - does anyone have that list? I own quite a few of the movies that made the list and will be adding more to my collection - as if I needed an excuse to buy more movies!
