I have come across this credit in a few movies. Right now this credit isn't allowed by the rules.

Even though Produced in this context has nothing to do with financial aspects, but in creating them.

According to Merriam-Webster the following definitions indicate this.

to cause to have existence or to happen
to give being, form, or shape to : make; especially : manufacture
to compose, create, or bring out by intellectual or physical effort

So if this credit is shown and no other VFX would be allowed by the rules, then a Visual Effects Produced by credit would be allowed.

Such as in Masters of the Universe, Richard Edlund is credited with this and nobody in the end credits would be allowed for Visual Effects.
Though the current profile has him credited, I would have to remove him per the rules. Thus removing the only VFX credit in the profile.

I remember someone, I believe it was Skip, tried very hard to get this credit included without success.

I agree that this credit is needed especially in cases such as those you sited.

I don't have a problem with it, though I don't think it is a feature request.  Since it would be a change to the crew chart, it is better done in the rules forum.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

Wouldn't this fall under direct translation?

Visual Effects Produced by
Visual Effects Designed by
Visual Effects Made by
Visual Effects Done by
Visual Effects Created by
etc.

Or how strict do we want to be? There seems to be some leeway on most credits concerning the exact wording. Because strictly speaking many of the credits we enter on a regular basis does not match the job descriptions in the credit table exactly.

Within the same language translations are not possible.
The described positions usually aren't even synonymous.

So I guess the answer is: No.

As strict as needed to prevent shoe-horning.
While in this specific case the entry may be legit, how could we prevent the contribution of illegit VFX-Producers after opening the gates?
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?
