most expensive Movie Boxset:
Planet of the Apes: The Evolution (DVD) 103,50€, bought 2000
the 5 old movies from "Planet..." to "Battle for..."

most expensive Anime Boxset:
Serial Experiments Lain (DVD) 99,24€, bought 2001

most expensive complete TV-Series:
Six Feet Under - Die komplette DVD-Sammler-Edition (DVD) 96,99€, bought 2007

most expensive single Movie:
Brazil - The Criterion Collection (DVD) 58,85€, bought 2001

for comparison: most expensive Boxset Blu-ray
Harry Potter - Limited Book Edition (BD) 49,99€, bought 2007
first 6 movies

so Blu-ray was rather cheap for me. Nowadays I'm hardly buying more than 1-2 titles per year.
As "The Buggles" sang: Streaming killed the media buyer.

Was it really an update? In the Play Store you can sort for "recently updated", have a look.
Or did Android just remove some long unused permissions? Which it does now in v11 (or was it in v10 already?)

Simple solution: Create a collection category for Television. From the menu select Tools / Create Collection Categories. Put your TV Show profiles in that category.

see also: Create Collection Categories
Quote:
- The second alternative allows you to upload all profiles, but the ones in you custom category will not be shown.

Small correction: the ones that are only in a Custom Collection category are not shown. As long as one keeps the titles in "Owned" also, they are visible. But even then the Categories are not visible.

The next to your Username shows that you are a registered user. So clicking on "registration" in the site navigation on top of the website and then "My Registrations" should show you your current registration key and name.

There is no way to get the cover image from DVD Profiler in a batch update. You can update it manually, but that's not really practical unless you have a very tiny collection. Getting cover images from DVD Profiler could be possible with some programming.

Did someone say "using the XML with a proper XSLT"?
If someone needs a batch-file for transferring the Profiler-Covers I'd need to know the path to the EMDB-covers and the naming scheme to see if it is automatable. A DVD Profiler XML-export of lets say 10 titles and the 10 resulting path/filenames should suffice.

Is this ever going to be fixed?

In all likelihood, No.

I haven't tried this, but can you unlock the full functionality of a new DVDP installation using your registration key without a connection to Invelos.com?

Looks good so far. Opened a VM (Oracle VM VirtualBox) which never had a DVD Profiler installed. Switched off the network, installed Profiler and everything looked OK. While restoring a backup it warned of limitations, coz unregistered, I only restored 50. Then entered registration, new BD restore, no nagging and every profile was restored.

@GSyren: Have you checked one of those profiles in your collection? Because technically it IS impossible!

Utter nonsense. Are you blind or unwilling to accept the truth?

Took me all of 60 seconds, 54 to get the DVD, 5 waiting for the drive to spin up, 1 for reading.

Is this a false positive or is there indeed some adware now included in the download

The version I just downloaded, without Defender throwing any alerts has the checksum
$ md5sum.exe DVDProSetup.exe
b83851423203896e5072ff76d2c601b9 *DVDProSetup.exe

An old download from 2017 has the same checksum, so either it is save or I'm pwned for 5 years now.

I can't say what the lawyers of my friend are going to do then.

Blathering like that will get you zero sympathy. And if your friend ever get the ban lifted he would be wise to not be associated with you.

I think Ken has lost interest in continued development of the program and just keeps what is alive for our sake.

That is my line of thinking also. For whatever reason(s) he moved on to something else.

Possible, but why isn't he just telling us? This behaviour and secrecy makes no sense at all.

Yes, but that would still mean to engage with a lot of people, who will be disappointed and will voice their resentments. Sometimes you just walk away.

Seriously, you think he's still alive? I don't hope that someehing happened, but it seems to me that Ken is maybe dead?

Someone is still logging in with his credentials, it would be a bit macabre if that is done by someone else.

"Reports" are a bit ... un-intuitive to say the least.
Got to the Reports-Download and search for 'location', at a quick glance '5 DVD's per Pg, Most drtails + Location (v 1.2)' looks promising. Download it and look into this one how you get Location/Slot shown. If memory serves it is under Disc-Information or similar.

but I wanted to avoid anything that had the appearance of being illegal,

so, to come back to the spitballed idea for using profile-files zipped together with the associated covers? As a quick band-aid while/if a server can be provided?

Anyone else buy a bar code scanner to add their collection?

~2 decades ago I bought a declawed CueCat for $5, but I haven't used it in ages. I enter the 1-2 BDs I still buy per year per hand without a problem.
If I ever have the need for bulk-scanning again I'd use a smartphone-app that can save the scanned UPCs in a text list.

A while ago the app was still reachable via the https://play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory?hl=en, but even that does not show the DVD Profiler for me.

First check all "Count As" entries.

Click "Collection" and uncheck "Nest Box Sets".
Switch your collection to list-view (Ctrl-F1), right-click on the list, "View Columns" and  choose "Count As".  Now click on the column header to sort by it and look for any zeroes.
